Companies selling AI employees in 2026 fall into five distinct groups, sorted by the job they take on. Sales development vendors include 11x, Artisan and Qualified. Customer support vendors include Decagon, Sierra and Intercom's Fin. Enterprise and operations vendors include Zamp, Beam AI and Ema. General-purpose vendors include Lindy, Sintra and Relevance AI. Cognition's Devin covers software engineering.
The label on the box varies more than the products do. Some vendors say "AI employee," some say "digital worker," and some say "AI teammate" or simply "AI agent." What matters to a buyer is the job: which work the software owns, which systems it acts in and what happens when it hits a case it cannot handle. For a full definition of the category, see the complete guide to AI employees.
An AI employee is a software agent assigned an ongoing job rather than a single prompt. It has access to the systems that job needs, works through the queue on its own and hands exceptions to a person. That is the working definition this map uses. A chatbot that answers questions on user requests does not qualify. An agent that runs a defined process with its own credentials and escalation path does.
The line between an AI employee and an AI agent is mostly about packaging. The agent is the technology. The AI employee is that technology scoped to a role, with responsibilities and limits a manager can see.
To build this list, we included vendors that market their product as an AI employee, digital worker or AI teammate, plus vendors that sell autonomous agents assigned to a defined job function. We left out general chat assistants and developer frameworks where the buyer has to build the worker themselves.

Sales development was one of the first jobs packaged as an AI employee, because the work is high-volume and easy to measure in meetings booked. These products usually come as a named persona with a single role.
11x describes its products as "digital workers" for sales teams. It sells two:
The company pitches itself to sales, RevOps and marketing teams that want to grow pipeline without adding headcount at the same rate.
Artisan sells "AI employees for go-to-market teams." Its main product is Ava, which it calls an autonomous AI BDR. Ava finds and enriches B2B leads, writes and sends personalized outreach, handles replies and books meetings. Artisan positions the product as one platform that replaces separate tools for data, enrichment, deliverability and sequencing.
Qualified sells Piper, which it calls an AI SDR agent. Piper works on inbound demand: it engages website visitors over chat, voice or video, follows up by email and schedules meetings when a buyer shows interest. It sits inside Qualified's broader agentic marketing platform.
For a deeper look at the role itself, see what an AI SDR or BDR does and how to deploy one. US teams running outbound calls or texts should also read up on TCPA compliance for AI sales agents.
Support vendors tend to say "AI agent" rather than "AI employee," but the product is the same shape: software that owns the front line of customer conversations and resolves issues without a person on most cases.
Decagon calls its product "the AI concierge for every customer." It is a platform for building and running AI agents that handle customer support across voice, chat and email. Teams define workflows in natural language, and the platform includes analytics and testing tools to improve the agent over time. Decagon lists financial services, travel, retail, telecommunications and technology among the sectors it serves.
Sierra describes itself as a conversational AI platform for businesses. Companies use it to build customer-facing agents that run across chat, SMS, WhatsApp, email and voice from a single agent definition. Sierra frames the work as going beyond service into revenue, and it prices on outcomes.
Fin, from Intercom, is sold as an AI agent for customer service. It resolves customer questions across channels, and it can also process refunds, update accounts and read and write to third-party systems. It connects to existing helpdesk software, and teams configure its tone and knowledge without engineering work.

Back-office work is where the AI employee label gets used most literally. These jobs, such as accounts payable, reconciliation, procurement and KYC review, run across ERPs, email, spreadsheets and portals, and they come with exceptions and audit requirements. Vendors in this group generally configure the AI employee around the customer's own procedures instead of shipping a fixed persona.
Zamp describes its product as "the AI employee you delegate jobs to." Each AI employee owns an ongoing process end to end, across the systems a person would use for that job, and escalates cases that fall outside its rules. Zamp works with enterprises in regulated industries such as banking and pharma.
Each Zamp AI employee runs on an Agent Operating Procedure (AOP), a plain-language brief written by the process owner that sets the desired result, policies, tolerances, approval rules and known exceptions. Reviewed corrections fold back into the AOP through a self-learning loop, and accumulated AOPs form a shared Company Brain. Every decision is logged in an audit trail. Zamp deploys as multi-tenant SaaS, in the customer's own cloud (BYOC) or on-premises, covered in how enterprise AI employee deployment works. The architecture is explained in full in how Zamp's AI employees work.
In one biopharma procurement deployment, Zamp reports a 90% reduction in cost per request and 13x volume growth within seven weeks.
Beam AI sells AI agents for enterprise operations through a product it calls Agent OS, "the self-learning OS for AI-native companies." Teams set up agents by uploading standard operating procedures, without code. Beam lists finance workflows such as invoice reconciliation, accounts receivable and compliance reporting, along with HR, customer service and industry solutions for insurance, banking, healthcare and BPO. It supports cloud, on-premises and hybrid deployment.
Ema sells what it calls a "Universal AI Employee," an agentic AI platform aimed at HR, IT and finance. Use cases include recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, IT support and payroll operations. Ema's named features include EmaFusion, which combines many models in real time, and Autopilot, a builder that creates workflows from a plain-language description. It offers prebuilt integrations and access through Teams, Slack or voice.

This group sells breadth. Rather than one deep role, these products cover many smaller tasks across a team or a small business, often with a library of ready-made helpers.
Lindy calls its product "your AI teammate" and an "AI employee for your whole team." It connects to a large catalog of business apps and takes on tasks such as pulling reports, drafting emails, triaging support queues, summarizing meetings, updating CRMs and building documents. Lindy offers a free tier, per-user subscriptions and enterprise plans.
Sintra sells a set of role-based AI employees, each with a name and a job. The roster includes Soshie for social media, Cassie for customer support, Dexter for data analysis, Emmie for email marketing, Penn for copywriting, Seomi for SEO, Scouty for recruiting and Milli for sales, among others. Sintra targets solopreneurs and growing teams that cannot yet hire staff for each of these roles.
Relevance AI sells an "AI Workforce" of specialist agents and AI teammates. Its use cases span sales research and meeting prep, customer success, marketing, support triage, operations and recruiting. The company frames adoption as a path from copilots that need human input toward agents that run on their own.
Two more groups show up in most AI employee conversations, even though they sit at the edges of the category.
Cognition sells Devin, which it describes as an autonomous AI software engineer. Devin plans, writes, tests and ships code inside a team's codebase and existing tools. It is the clearest example of the AI employee model applied to engineering work.
Salesforce describes Agentforce as an AI agent platform and frames it as a digital labor force. Agentforce agents take on roles such as service representative, SDR, HR specialist and IT help desk, inside the Salesforce ecosystem. Large software platforms like this one sell agents as an extension of systems a company already runs, rather than as a standalone hire.
A few patterns hold across the vendors above.
Whatever the label, the same questions sort a shortlist quickly.
The market will keep shifting through 2026 as vendors add roles and rename products. Sorting vendors by the job they take on, rather than by what they call themselves, is the most durable way to compare them.
